How does FairWarning® work?
FairWarning®'s
Privacy Breach Detection solution systematically identifies users who
are engaging in patient access patterns that are indicative of
snooping, identity theft or other risky behaviors. Customers consider
FairWarning® privacy auditing solutions
essential for compliance with healthcare privacy regulations such as
ARRA HITECH privacy and meaningful use criteria, HIPAA, EU Data
Protection, UK Freedom of Information Act, California SB 541 and AB
211, and Canadian provincial healthcare privacy law.
Privacy breach detection centralizes audit logs for all crucial EHRs
and applications which provide access to Protected Health Information
(PHI), enabling proactive monitoring and simplifying investigations.
FairWarning® then filters out known false
positives, and brings any remaining potential incidents to the
attention of appropriate privacy personnel. Based on reference-able
FairWarning® customer studies, manual review
processes are reduced by over 90%. In addition, customers experience 5
times greater incident visibility, which means that on average, for
every incident found by a manual process, at least four (4) more go
undetected.

What resources are required to run FairWarning®?
During
implementation, extracting audit data from the clinical and
non-clinical
systems requires an IT resource with the technical skills necessary to
write and run program(s) and schedule the job(s) to transfer data in an
ongoing, secure manner to the FairWarning®

After implementation, customers find that their existing Privacy or
