Leadership Team
Kurt Long is the Founder and CEO of FairWarning, Inc., the inventor and global leader in privacy breach detection solutions for electronic health records. Mr. Long founded FairWarning® in 2005 and has led the company to 3,000% growth to date. Under Long's leadership, the company has been profitable since 2008. FairWarning® customers represent over 800 hospitals and 2,500 clinics across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and France. The company is headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, with offices in London, England and Paris, France. FairWarning® anticipates continued growth and profitability.
In 1995, Mr. Long founded and subsequently served as CEO of OpenNetwork Technologies a leader in web single sign on and identity management software solutions. As CEO, Mr. Long led OpenNetwork to over 2,000% growth with customers across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. In support of OpenNetwork's growth, Mr. Long raised capital with tier-1 venture capitalists and subsequently served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors for OpenNetwork. In 2005, OpenNetwork was acquired by BMC Software of Houston, Texas which is one of the world's largest software companies.
At the outset of his career, Mr. Long held positions of growing responsibility with Lockheed Space Operations at Kennedy Space Center and IBM. Mr. Long received a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Florida graduating with High Honors. Kurt also received a Master's degree in Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science from the University of South Florida, graduating with Honors. Mr. Long is a recognized industry expert in the "AAA" security industry (Authentication, Authorization, Audit) and has authored dozens of published articles on the topic.
At FairWarning®, Mr. Whitlatch is responsible for the operation and strategy of FairWarning's Strategic Partnerships. Shane is also responsible for Global Sales Operations at FairWarning®. Prior to FairWarning®, Mr. Whitlatch held multiple senior roles in high growth software companies including OpenNetwork Technologies (acquired by BMC), LifeServ Technologies (acquired in 2004), and Pyxis/Cardinal Health.
Shane graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Mr. Whitlatch graduated with honors and specialized in entrepreneurial studies. His undergraduate studies took place at the University of Dayton and USF, where he obtained his B.S. in Marketing.
Shane is an active member of the Tampa Bay community, and serves as a director on numerous boards.
At FairWarning®, Frank DePrisco is responsible for Global Customer Operations including the delivery of customer solutions and customer relationship management. Frank joined FairWarning® with 15 years of business services and operational management experience, and has worked in the areas of Software and Hardware Implementation, Business Reengineering, Strategic Planning, Process Improvement, PCI Compliance and Information Security. Frank began his career with IBM and Arthur Anderson and became Director of Business Services and Information Security at Special Data Processing corporation. Frank received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from the University of West Florida. He graduated with honors and was selected as the College of Business Outstanding Undergraduate Student.
At FairWarning®, Sadie Peterson is responsible for marketing strategy and campaign implementation including efforts in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Prior to joining FairWarning®, Sadie created highly successful marketing campaigns for clients such as Intuit and Lancome. With a background primarily in enterprise technology and healthcare, Sadie is regularly interviewed as an expert, and has assisted companies internationally in energizing their online and offline marketing efforts.
Sadie completed her Master of Business Administration in Marketing at San Diego State University. Undergraduate work at California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly) and San Diego State culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

At FairWarning®, Alison Matherly is responsible for public and media relations, and marketing communications. Alison joined FairWarning® as a seasoned marketing communications professional with extensive experience in strategic planning, corporate communications, media relations, special events, program development and B2B and B2C marketing, focusing on health care, consumer products, sports, aquatic and eco-educational industries.
Alison serves on the Board of Directors of the American Marketing Association Tampa Bay Chapter, and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Temple University.
Darin Pederson
At FairWarning®, Darin Pederson is regionally responsible for sales. Prior to FairWarning®, Darin enjoyed a successful career at Computer Associates where he specialized in selling Identity and Access Management solutions to Government and Healthcare organizations. At Computer Associates, Darin successfully sold and developed on-going relationships with some of the west coast's largest healthcare organizations. Overall Darin has developed more than 9 years of sales experience in the security software market. Darin is a member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
At FairWarning®, Mr. Arnold is responsible for the product vision, technical strategy and the full software development lifecycle. Prior to joining FairWarning®, Chris held senior level roles where he led multiple large scale custom software development and deployment initiatives to thousands of users across the healthcare, financial and retail markets.
Chris graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's of Computer Science and Engineering.
Les Baker
At FairWarning®, Mr. Baker is responsible for business development in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining FairWarning®, Les was an Alliances Director for the Public Sector at Sun Microsystems where he formed strategic partners with ISV's in order to grow Sun's revenue and market-presence. Mr. Baker has had a successful career of twenty-five years in software sales, pres-sales and alliances development at market leading companies such as Sun Microsystems, Unisys and Informix. Mr. Baker graduated from the University of Sunderland.
At FairWarning®, Mr. Stoppa is responsible for business development in Europe and Middle East. Prior to joining FairWarning®, Philippe was the Healthcare Business Manager at Symantec. Mr. Stoppa was Southern EMEA Director of Altiris when Symantec acquired the company. Overall, Mr. Stoppa has enjoyed a successful career of twenty-five years in the information technology industry starting his career in Research and Development at IBM where he held a patent.
Philippe's educational achievements include graduating as a Master of Science from Supelec in Paris, France and serving as a Post-Graduate Guest Researcher at the KTH - Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
