FairWarning has never and will never sell the data of its customers, employees, partners or any other affiliated party.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe how FairWarning (“FairWarning”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”) collects, uses and shares information about you (“You”, “Your”, “Consumer”, “User”) through our U.S. online interfaces (e.g., websites and mobile applications) owned and controlled by us, including www.fairwarning.com (collectively referred to herein as the “Site” or “Website”). We have created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. Collection of personal data

In general, you can visit the FairWarning Site without providing us with any personal information. However, there are instances where your personal information will be required in order for us to grant you access to protected areas of our Site or to allow us to support your relationship with FairWarning by alerting you to new events, products and services as they become available.

FairWarning will only use your personal information in the ways identified in its Privacy Policy or otherwise specified when it was collected and will not subsequently change the way in which we use your personal information without informing you and obtaining your consent where required by applicable law.

We collect information from you so that we can provide information that you request from us. We may send you information about our products and services, and new offerings. We may use third parties to help host our Site, send out email updates about the Site, provide marketing and advertising services for us, remove repetitive information from our user lists, and process payments. Anonymous Data and Cookies

FairWarning may also use technology to collect anonymous information about the use of our Site to improve the content and functionality of the Site and to improve our products and services. For example, we use technology to track which pages of our Site our visitors view or which Web browsers our visitors use. This technology does not identify you personally; it simply enables us to compile statistics about our visitors and their use of our Site. In order to collect the anonymous data, we may use temporary “cookies” that collect the first level domain name of the user (for example, if your e-mail address is “bill@monstermail.com,” the cookie collects the “monstermail.com” portion of your e-mail address) and the date and time you accessed the FairWarning Site. We also permit our third-party service providers to use cookies to track your use of our Site while you are on our Site. These cookies are set in order to remember preferences when you return to your site, such as form field values, maintain the login session, remember table filters, etc. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. We may also use your IP address to help administer our Site, gather broad demographic information about the users of our Site and to determine which domain you are coming from (e.g.: aol.com, yourcompany.com, etc.) to more accurately gauge our users’ demographics.

The FairWarning Site may contain links to third-party sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another site. We encourage you to read the Privacy Policies of these linked sites as their privacy policy may differ from ours. FairWarning  is not responsible for the privacy policies, practices, or the content of such external links.

Consumer Rights

As a consumer, you have the rights regarding your personal data including:

The right to request Disclosure of information collected, shared, and sold – We will provide the consumer with the information that classifies as Personal Information upon receipt of a Verifiable Consumer Request (VCR) no more than twice per year for data collected within the 12-months preceding the request.

The right to request Deletion of information collected – We will delete your personal data that we have collected upon verification of consumer’s identity and direct any of our associated service providers to do the same. Note there are exceptions to this, and details are available on our Privacy Policy.

The right to Opt-out of the Sale of personal information – We will maintain at least two mediums for consumers to opt-out of the Sale of Personal information as required by regional, national, or international legislation. Access will be communication and provided on this website. Deviations or modifications to established methods will be communicated to the consumer as needed. Please access the Opt-Out link to initiate review of your personal information for removal from sale of your personal information.

Right to Non-Discrimination – We will not discriminate against a consumer who exercises their rights, including denial of goods or services, charging different prices, modifying the level or quality of services or suggestion thereof of any of the of practices noted.

FairWarning’s Right of Refusal

We may refuse a request for deletion or disclosure if the request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive in particular because of repetitive character.’ In this case FairWarning will promptly inform consumers, and may assess a reasonable fee to comply based on accrued costs.

No Information from Children Under Age 13

If you are under the age of 13, please do not attempt to register with us at this Site or provide any personal information about yourself to us.  If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will promptly delete that information.  If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, please Contact us or email at DataPrivacy@FairWarning.com.

Opting-out of Receiving Materials from FairWarning

There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information. Please note that e-mails and other communications you send to us through our Site are not encrypted, and we strongly advise you not to communicate any confidential information through these means.

Transfer and Retention of Your Personal Data

It will also be processed by staff operating within the United States who work for us or for one of our suppliers. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the fulfillment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. FairWarning is a learning community organization and, as such, must maintain contact information on its community members to communicate relational or transactional information. FairWarning also sends promotional material promoting its conferences, training opportunities, or other offerings. From time to time, FairWarning collaborates with other organizations and companies to promote other programs that may be of interest to information security professionals and FairWarning constituents. We will always obtain your prior “opt-in” before sending you marketing communications. If, at any time, you do not wish to receive marketing material, every marketing e-mail will include an opt-out link at the bottom, or you may notify FairWarning in writing at the address below. This does not include individual communications from sales, services, and support team members.
