Vision for The Role

In this role, you will have a major impact on FairWarning’s ability to protect and secure our customer’s most sensitive and private data. The Senior IT Specialist is responsible for supporting FairWarning staff enabling them to support customers as well as supporting customers directly by proactively monitoring hardware systems.  As a Senior IT Specialist, you will interface with FairWarning team members daily to efficiently and effectively resolve the technical issues they encounter as well as interfacing with customers on Infrastructure related cases.   Are you a IT support superstar?  Do you delight in helping people? Your Impact:

  • Keep the business running – by providing the highest level of IT support to the FairWarning Staff in an efficient and effective manner
  • First impression – As the first point of contact for internal staff experiencing issues you will determine the first impression of the IT team
  • Resolve issues with internal and external customers by listening to their problems and finding reliable solutions that fix the root cause of the issue, not just the symptom

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong, customer and team focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical parties
  • BS degree and/or 3-4+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Industry Certifications, such as ITIL, Network+, A+, Security+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTP), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), VMware Certified Associate (VCA), and/or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
  • 3+ years Office 365/Windows desktop support
  • Encryption and endpoint protection
  • Installation, modification, and repair of computer hardware and software
  • Resolution of technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), printers, desktops and other systems
  • Connecting users to networks and providing initial training in facilities and application.
  • Performing moves, adds, deletes and other changes for phone users. Provides phone support and training to new users and solving miscellaneous phone problems, or enlists outside vendor
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware (PRTG)
  • Working experience with network configuration and troubleshooting including but not limited to DHCP, LAN, WAN, DNS, IP routing
  • Asset Management and tracking
  • Virtualization troubleshooting and support (VMware preferred), including SAN experience (a plus)
  • Firewall/VPN troubleshooting (a plus)
  • Linux Experience (a plus)
