As security threats to organization’s data — whether it’s patient or corporate data – continue to trend upward, privacy can longer be an issue of just legal departments — it needs to be a priority that permeates operations and strategy.

 

A new survey from FairWarning, the leader in protecting the privacy of people and organizations, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) found that out of 550 global privacy and data protection, IT and compliance professionals, 50 percent had at least one data breach in the last three years. What’s more alarming is that despite the increase in breaches and privacy incidents, privacy programs have not advanced quickly enough to keep up with these threats.
