New Software Version incorporates FairWarning Patient Privacy Framework for Best Practices & Data Definitions
Leveraging best practices from the recently released FairWarning® Patient Privacy Framework, FairWarning® 2.9.2 enables healthcare organizations to rapidly deploy privacy breach detection, including over 100 behavior-based scenarios for detecting snooping and identity theft patterns.
According to Barry Runyon, Research VP at Gartner, “Data definitions for EHR enterprise and departmental system audit logs will prove to be very useful to healthcare providers seeking to normalize and automate their response to HITECH’s privacy auditing requirements surrounding protected health information (PHI) and consultants and vendors looking to assist them. The guides should increase their understanding of the sources and structure of the PHI.”
New features available in the 2.9.2 release include:
- Enhanced privacy breach incident investigation workflow
- Executive-level reporting for governance
- Auditing response and compliance reports
- Vulnerability and risk analysis
“Our customers have asked that we not only improve upon best-in-class privacy breach detection, but also to enable privacy breach detection to be fully integrated with overall enterprise security plans and tools,” says Kurt Long, FairWarning® Founder and CEO. “We are pleased to have production customers who are integrating FairWarning® with a variety of enterprise security solutions. It is our pleasure to announce the availability of FairWarning® 2.9.2.”
