The challenge

Struggling to meet the demands for patient information to be both available anytime, anywhere and protected against any unauthorized access, Saint Luke’s chose FairWarning to help integrate and streamline its privacy protection efforts.

Patients need protected access to their health information, so providers need anywhere, anytime access with ease, simplicity, and compliance with such regulatory requirements as HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and JCAHO. That put Saint Luke’s in a difficult position, particularly with PCI compliance.

In addition, the Saint Luke’s privacy team was already conducting assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities, but any inquiry of access to patient information required waiting on IT to provide audit logs that could take weeks to receive and were difficult to tedious and time consuming to review.
